Rapper Guru Vies for University of Ghana’s SRC Presidency

In a bid to become the next Students Representative Council (SRC) President of the University of Ghana, rapper Guru, also known as Maradona Yeboah Adjei, has launched his campaign in a now-viral post on his social media platforms. In the post shared yesterday, Guru extended a warm welcome to students returning to school and signaled the commencement of his campaign.

In his message, Guru expressed enthusiasm for the semester ahead and declared his candidacy for the UGSRC President position with the hashtag #Building the SRC with Everyone for Everyone. This announcement follows his earlier declaration of intent to run in the University of Ghana’s Student Representative Council elections.

Guru’s decision to run for SRC president presents an opportunity for him to showcase his leadership skills and political acumen in student governance. If successful, he would follow in the footsteps of his senior, Samini, who emerged victorious in the SRC elections at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) in 2022.
