39 Year Old Ghanaian Man Shot Dead in Toronto

A 39-year-old Ghanaian named Adu Boakye has been shot and killed in Toronto, Canada. The incident occurred around 3 pm on Saturday, February 17, 2024, in the Jane Street and Driftwood Avenue area.

Adu Boakye was walking near a bus stop when he was shot three times. The motive behind the shooting remains unclear.

The Toronto Police Service is conducting a homicide investigation and is seeking the public’s help in locating a suspect vehicle.

“The Toronto Police Service is making the public aware of a Homicide investigation and are seeking the public’s assistance locating a suspect vehicle. Police believe the stolen vehicle involved in today’s shooting homicide was also involved in a shooting that occurred yesterday in the same area,” the Police said in a statement on February 17.

Adu Boakye died while being treated at the hospital.

Having recently relocated to Canada just three months prior, Adu Boakye left behind four children. The Toronto police have identified a suspect through video footage, describing him as a male, black, aged 18-25, with a thin build who wore a black coat, a white hoodie, black pants, black shoes, a black face covering and possibly a white surgical mask.

The suspect fled the scene in a stolen black Acura RDX with license plate CVEN 900.

The police found a vehicle suspected to be stolen, a black Acura RDX, in Hamilton. Residents of the Jane Street and Driftwood Avenue area have been urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the authorities. As of now, the suspect remains at large.
