A$AP Rocky Acquitted: Rihanna Reacts to Assault Verdict
A$AP Rocky Acquitted: Rihanna Expresses Gratitude Following Felony Assault Verdict

Rihanna expressed her happiness and thankfulness following the acquittal of her longtime companion, A$AP Rocky, in his widely reported criminal assault trial. The fashion tycoon and Grammy winner rushed to Instagram to share her feelings after the rapper was found not guilty of any crimes.
In 2021, A$AP Rocky, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, was charged with shooting his old friend Terrell Ephron following a fight outside a hotel in Los Angeles. According to Ephron, the rapper grazed his knuckles with a gunshot. But during the trial, A$AP Rocky insisted on his innocence, and his defense team contended that the purported firearm was only a toy gun.
The case, which could have resulted in a 24-year prison sentence, saw the jury deliver a not-guilty verdict after reviewing available evidence, including partial surveillance footage that did not capture the actual shooting. Following the decision, Rihanna shared a heartfelt message on Instagram: “The Glory belongs to God and God alone. Thankful, humbled by his mercy.”
Seated behind her partner during the trial proceedings, the “Umbrella” singer visibly supported A$AP Rocky throughout the legal battle. After being acquitted, the rapper expressed his gratitude, saying, “Thank God for saving my life. This whole experience has been crazy for the past four years. I’m thankful and blessed to be a free man.”
Terrell Ephron and A$AP Rocky had been close friends since high school, but their connection had soured in recent years, the trial also disclosed. Judge Mark Arnold finally dropped the case, absolving the rapper of any further action, despite the prosecution’s efforts to secure a conviction and the lack of hard evidence to back up Ephron’s allegations.
A$AP Rocky had already turned down a plea agreement that would have sentenced him to six months in prison for confessing to a single offense. Now that his identity has been cleared by the court, he can concentrate on his family and work. He and Rihanna have two young children together, Riot and RZA.
Fans anxiously anticipate the couple’s next steps, both personally and professionally, as they continue to flourish in the wake of the trial.
