Aflao Police Arrest Four Suspects in Brutal Murder of Mobile Money Vendor

The Ghana Police Service in Aflao, Volta Region, has swiftly brought justice to a tragic case by apprehending four suspects in connection with the horrific murder of a mobile money vendor. The arrests occurred on Saturday, May 10, 2025, marking a significant breakthrough in an incident that has shocked the border community of Aflao. On Tuesday, May 13, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Felix Danku, the spokesperson for the Volta Regional Police Public Affairs Unit, confirmed the development in Ho. DSP Danku stated that the arrested individuals are currently in police custody and are helping officers with ongoing investigations to fully understand the circumstances surrounding the crime.
The first incident happened on Sunday, April 28 at around 6:15 p.m. when 32-year-old Christopher Ahordo, a mobile money salesman, was attacked by five armed robbers in Gbagblakope, a neighborhood close to the Diamond Cement facility in Aflao. The violent heist resulted in Ahordo’s immediate death by gunshot. The vendor’s bag, which is thought to have contained a significant amount of cash, was taken by the attackers. The four culprits were identified and taken into custody as a result of the police’s thorough investigations after the incident. As the investigations continue, DSP Danku stressed that the suspects will soon be prepared for court.
DSP Danku called on everyone to be on guard and report any suspicious activity or people in their areas in his message. In order to help prevent criminal activity and guarantee swift action when required, he urged residents to voluntarily cooperate with law enforcement by providing timely and reliable information. Residents in the region who have been terrified since the incident are relieved by the arrest. Police officials have urged the public to assist them in their battle against crime and reaffirmed their dedication to upholding security and order.
