President Akufo-Addo has unveiled plans to construct a minimum of thirty SMART schools throughout Ghana by the end of the year, as part of the Ghana Smart Schools project. This initiative aims to elevate senior high school education by providing teaching and learning management systems, digital learning content, and electronic devices to all senior high and TVET schools nationwide.

In alignment with the Ministry of Education’s digitalization agenda for pre-tertiary education, the project underscores the government’s dedication to harnessing technological advancements to prepare Ghanaian students for the challenges of the fourth industrial revolution.

Speaking at the official launch of the Ghana Smart Schools project in Accra, President Akufo-Addo emphasized that these schools will function independently of the national electricity grid, featuring digitalized infrastructure to advance teaching methodologies.

“The other component of the Ghana Smart Schools project is the provision of infrastructure. The government intends to build 100 Smart Schools across the country.”

“And for the avoidance of doubt, it is planned that the 100 Smart Schools will be located in the following cities and towns in all the 16 regions,” President Akufo-Addo said.
