On Monday, March 25, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will introduce the highly anticipated “One Student, One Laptop” programme for Senior High School (SHS) pupils.

As part of the plan, which aims to improve young Ghanaian students’ technical literacy, the government will give pre-programmed computers to every SHS student in the nation.

Since secondary education has been free since 2017, the government’s commitment to secondary education is further demonstrated by the realisation of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s announcement last year that every SHS student would receive a laptop.

The laptops may be accessed offline (without internet) from anywhere in the nation and come packed with programmes, including textbooks.

Students no longer need to carry about their textbooks as they may now carry laptops.

Following the President’s launch on Monday, March 25, the computers will be distributed to SHS students.
