The Ga Mantse’s office has officially scheduled the landmark visit of the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, for Sunday, June 9, 2024. This significant event, announced during a press conference at the Ga Mantse Palace on June 6, marks the first time in history that an Asante King will visit the Ga State.
The visit, organized by a planning committee led by Nii Boi Abbey, will be highlighted by a grand durbar hosted by the Ga Mantse, Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, at the Ga Mantse’s Palace in Kaneshie, Accra, starting at 11 am.
This occasion aims to rekindle and strengthen the historic bonds between the Ga and Asante people, building on the Ga Mantse’s recent attendance at the Asantehene’s 25th anniversary celebration.
Nii Boi Abbey emphasized the deep-rooted connections between the two communities, which have evolved through shared cultural exchanges and traditions. He noted that these interactions have fostered similarities in governance, cultural practices, and societal structures, underscoring their shared African heritage.
