Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), has affirmed his commitment to combating corruption if elected as President in the upcoming December elections.

He emphasized his untainted record, stating that he has never been implicated in any corruption scandal throughout his life. Dr. Bawumia asserted that his personal integrity equips him to address the corruption issue effectively, if not entirely eradicate it.

Speaking to the public at the University of Professional Studies, Accra, on Wednesday, February 7, Dr. Bawumia pledged to modernize all state agencies as part of the strategy to tackle corruption.

He emphasized his trustworthiness and dedication to working tirelessly for Ghana’s benefit, positioning himself as the ideal choice for those seeking a leader with integrity and commitment.

Furthermore, Dr. Bawumia reiterated his dedication to protecting the nation’s natural resources for the welfare of all citizens. He asserted himself as the candidate most committed to utilizing these resources for the benefit of Ghanaians.

The current administration has faced criticism for its perceived leniency towards officials accused of corruption. Additionally, the government’s Office of the Special Prosecutor has been criticized for falling short of expectations in its anti-corruption efforts.
