Beyoncè Becomes Most-Nominated Artist Ever
Beyoncé Breaks Records: Surpasses Jay-Z to Become Most-Nominated Artist in Grammy History

Beyoncé has made Grammy history by securing the title of the most-nominated artist in the awards’ history, surpassing her husband Jay-Z. Previously, the music power couple shared the record with 88 nominations each.
However, Beyoncé has now pulled ahead, thanks to multiple nods for her latest album, Cowboy Carter. This year, she tops the list with 11 nominations, including Best Album, Best Country Album, and Song of the Year for “Texas Hold ‘Em.
Other artists leading the Grammy race with seven nominations each include Billie Eilish, Kendrick Lamar, Post Malone, and Charli XCX. Additionally, The Beatles earned a Record of the Year nomination for “Now And Then,” a once-unfinished John Lennon track completed with the aid of artificial intelligence last year.
Beyoncé is already the Recording Academy’s most awarded artist, boasting 32 solo Grammy wins and an additional three with Destiny’s Child. Despite her Grammy success, she has yet to secure the prestigious Album of the Year award, despite four nominations. Most recently, in 2023, Harry Styles took home the Album of the Year trophy for Harry’s House, beating out Beyoncé’s disco-inspired Renaissance, which had been the front-runner according to bookmakers.
Earlier in 2024, Jay-Z subtly criticized Grammy voters for overlooking Beyoncé in top categories. While accepting a lifetime achievement award, he remarked, “The most Grammys; never won album of the year. That doesn’t work.” His comment underscored a longstanding debate about the Recording Academy’s recognition of artistic achievement.
The 2025 Grammy nominations also saw notable mentions for Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter, and Chappell Roan, each receiving six nominations. Meanwhile, British star Raye is up for Songwriter of the Year and Best New Artist, and The Rolling Stones earned a nod for Best Rock Album for Hackney Diamonds, their first original album since 2016.
As the Grammys approach, all eyes are on Beyoncé, who could further solidify her legacy as the queen of the music industry if she takes home more awards in 2025.
