Dr. Bryan Acheampong, the Minister for Food and Agriculture, has responded to allegations from Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the MP for North Tongu, concerning his attempts to purchase four hotels owned by the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT).

During an interview with Joy FM on Tuesday, the Abetifi MP cautioned Ablakwa against efforts to tarnish his reputation and that of Rock City Hotel.

Ablakwa has petitioned the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) to investigate the sale of the SSNIT-owned hotels to Dr. Acheampong and to halt the transaction. He claims the sale lacks due process and breaches procurement procedures.

Dr. Acheampong expressed disappointment with Ablakwa’s actions, labeling the allegations as baseless and a deliberate attempt to damage his image. He urged Ablakwa to separate him from his businesses and ask genuine questions if necessary.

“You are just adding things together and trying to destroy me and Rock City. It is most unfair, it is ‘un-Ghanaian’ and you should stop it,” he said.

Dr. Acheampong emphasized that while he can handle political attacks, Ablakwa’s claims are untruthful and will be disproven by CHRAJ.
