Ghanaian Chef Ebenezer Smith is currently on a mission to surpass the existing world record for the longest individual cooking session, having already exceeded 600 hours of continuous cooking.

Chef Smith has surpassed the milestone of 610 hours, marking Day 26 of his cooking marathon at the Amadia Shopping Centre in Spintex. His culinary journey commenced on February 1 and is scheduled to conclude on March 6, 2024.

Renowned Ghanaian personalities such as Nana Ama McBrown, Clemento Suarez, Kwaku Manu, SDK, OB Amponsah, and others have already thronged the venue to show their support for Chef Smith. The Amadia Shopping Centre serves as the primary sponsor for Chef Smith’s record-breaking endeavor.

Meanwhile, another Ghanaian chef, Failatu Abdul-Razak, has undertaken a similar feat, aiming to cook for a total of 227 hours. Clad in the national flag, Abdul-Razak completed her cooking marathon with a heartfelt salute in Tamale back in January, describing it as a “national assignment” and expressing her unwavering dedication to Ghana. The crowd erupted in cheers as she concluded her marathon in the hotel kitchen.

However, Abdul-Razak’s attempt is pending official confirmation from the Guinness World Records.
