Dance Coach Jailed 6 Years for Shocking Misconduct Scandal
Choreography Instructor Sentenced to Six Years for Misconduct Involving Students

Under the direction of Mr. Maxwell Ofori Kpodo, a district court in Twifo Hemang has sentenced 50-year-old dance instructor Eric Adu Amissah to six years in prison for engaging in inappropriate behavior with seven juveniles he was teaching.
In the Heman Lower Denkyira District, the victims, who were registered as pupils at an Amissah-run cultural dance school, were the victims of the crime.
When the children started having health issues, the prosecution, lead by Chief Inspector Joseph Kussah, claimed that the convicted instructor had abused his power to act unethically. Anxious reports about Amissah’s behavior were found during follow-up medical exams and parental investigations.
Additionally, the investigation revealed that the teacher tried to control the kids by giving them candy and soft drinks as treats. When the victims told their guardians, authorities were notified, and Amissah was charged.
Before being captured by the Central North Regional Police Cyber Unit at Adenta in the Greater Accra Region, Amissah eluded authorities for six months after being initially granted bail.
On March 5, 2025, he went before the Twifo Hemang District Magistrate’s Court and was charged with seven counts of indecent assault. He entered a guilty plea to every charge, and the court found him guilty.
The example emphasizes how crucial it is for educational and extracurricular institutions to be vigilant and implement kid protection procedures. Parents and guardians are still being urged by law enforcement and community leaders to be vigilant and watchful in protecting children from possible harm.
