ECG Power Outages in Accra & Tema (May 13-14, 2025): Details

A two-day planned maintenance activity has been formally announced by the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) for Tuesday, May 13, and Wednesday, May 14, 2025. Several villages in the Greater Accra and Tema regions will be impacted by this project as the business works to improve service dependability and guarantee a steady supply of electricity. The corporation explained in a series of public notifications distributed through official ECG communication channels that maintenance will start daily at 9:00 am and should be finished by 5:00 pm. Work will, however, stop sooner in some places—around 3:00 pm. The following Greater Accra areas will be impacted on Tuesday, May 13:

Pokuase Pharmacy, Ayawaso Station, Nii Ayii, Odumase, Amanfrom, Nsakina, Kotoku Papase, Papase Soldier Line, SCC, Old Barrier, Bortianor, Choice, Tseaddo, Oyibi and surrounding communities.

In the Tema Region, areas such as Jomef, Vodafone, Community 9 Market, Vienna City, Community 18, Devtraco, Koi Larbi, Adotey, City Escape, Miotso, Ghanaman Soccer Academy, Fish Feed, Noble Estates, Prampram Township, Kpoi Ete, Oasis, and Oman will experience an outage from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.

On Wednesday, May 14, maintenance continues in different areas. In Greater Accra, the power outage will affect Abeka, Tesano Park, Santana Market, Ofankor Franko, Haatso, Achimota, and nearby localities from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Meanwhile, in the Tema Region, Community 25, Ghana Flag, Bulasu, Casilda Estates, Afienya Zongo, Hot Oven, Imperial Perkin, China Mall, T Havana, Kaketo, Okro Market, Ashaiman Bus Terminal, Apenyo, Asensu Bar, and Valco Flats will have power cuts from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.

In addition to expressing regret for the inconvenience, ECG has reminded the impacted customers that the planned maintenance is essential for long-term service enhancements. It is advised that residents prepare as needed and keep an eye on ECG’s official platforms for any updates or modifications.
