ECG Prepaid Customers Urged to Top Up Before Upcoming System Upgrade

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has advised its prepaid customers to purchase enough credit to last at least one month in anticipation of an upcoming system upgrade.
The exercise is part of planned maintenance on the Nuri Kamstrup Prepayment Server, scheduled to begin at 11:00 p.m. on Friday, December 1, 2024, and end at 11:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 3, 2024.
During this period, customers may face challenges accessing top-up services for prepaid electricity. ECG’s precautionary measure is aimed at ensuring a seamless power supply for households and businesses while minimizing disruptions.
The company has assured customers that postpaid meters will remain unaffected during the maintenance. This announcement is part of ECG’s broader efforts to enhance its operational efficiency and service delivery through technology upgrades.
The company has apologized for any inconvenience this may cause and expressed gratitude for the understanding and cooperation of its valued customers.
ECG’s proactive approach reflects its commitment to addressing system vulnerabilities and improving the reliability of electricity services across the country. Customers are encouraged to act promptly to avoid inconveniences during the maintenance window.
