Independent presidential candidate Alan Kyerematen has expressed strong confidence that women and youth will be instrumental in securing his victory in Ghana’s December 7, 2024, elections. Addressing a lively crowd at Dome Market in Accra during his campaign tour, Kyerematen highlighted the pivotal role these groups play in his transformative vision for Ghana.

Kyerematen’s campaign centers on his Great Transformational Plan (GTP), a blueprint designed to revolutionize the country’s economy and social systems. Speaking to traders and market women, he reiterated his commitment to empowering women through targeted initiatives like the proposed Traders Bank. This financial institution would provide accessible credit facilities to women and youth entrepreneurs, helping them expand their businesses and improve their livelihoods.

“I am confident that the support of women and youth will make me president on December 7. My policies are designed to transform lives and create opportunities, especially for these vital groups,” Kyerematen stated.

He also unveiled plans to modernize market infrastructure by incorporating amenities like clinics, crèches, and car parks, winning applause from the traders.

Yaw Buaben Asamoa, Director of Policy for the Movement for Change, reinforced Alan’s message, describing the overwhelming energy and support from women and youth as a movement. He emphasized Alan’s 10-point youth empowerment plan, which focuses on job creation, skills development, and digital transformation.

Traders and young people at the event praised Alan’s vision. “Alan understands us. The Traders Bank will help us grow our businesses and support our families. We are voting for him,” said one trader.

Kyerematen concluded with an impassioned call to action: “On December 7, let’s vote for transformation. Together, we will make history and create a Ghana where opportunities are a right, not a privilege.”
