With a perfect Final Grade Point Average (FGPA) of 4.0, Ephraim Ayeh Oracca-Tetteh graduated as the University of Ghana’s February 2025 Congregation’s Overall Best Student, setting a new academic record. His incredible story is one of tenacity, fortitude, and exceptional academic success.

Before continuing his education at St. Thomas Aquinas Senior High School, where he studied visual arts, Oracca-Tetteh started his academic career at Faith Christian Academy. He shown his aptitude for academic success early on when he won a regional visual arts quiz competition.

He began studying painting and sculpture at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in 2017. However, he had to reevaluate his educational path because of a medical ailment that affected his vision. Instead of allowing this obstacle to stop him, Ephraim turned to the Ghana Blind Union for support, where he received training in assistive technology.

He applied to the University of Ghana in 2021 to study Political Science, Philosophy & Classics, and Archaeology with his newly acquired abilities and resolve. He immediately received recognition for his academic excellence when he was awarded the 2021/2022 Vice-Chancellor’s Awards Alumni Prize for Best Level 200 Humanities Student. He now receives a perfect 4.0 FGPA upon graduation, which is an exceptional achievement.

Beyond academics, Oracca-Tetteh has been a passionate champion for diversity and an engaged student leader. He relentlessly worked to advance the rights and welfare of students with disabilities while serving as the Campus Association of Students with Special Needs’ organizing secretary and public relations officer.

His involvement in student organizations, academic program coordination, and Radio Univers volunteer work demonstrated that his leadership went beyond advocacy. He also oversaw a project that trained senior high school teachers on incorporating technology into the classroom, which was run by the Ghana Education Service (GES), T-TEL, and KTI.

Oracca-Tetteh’s academic interests include assistive technology, cognitive science, philosophy, and law. He aspires to become an academic specializing in human rights and inclusion, using his experiences to push for equitable educational access.

He attributes his success to the unwavering support of his family, mentors, and financial aid from institutions such as the Scholarship Secretariat.
