Actress Gloria Sarfo has revealed how some film producers marginalize her because of her involvement in the local series, ‘Efiewura’.
She mentioned that there was a time when she was perceived as incapable of expressing herself in English due to her role in the series, which affected her opportunities in certain movies and promotional campaigns, despite her leading roles.
She recounted instances where she was advised that her active participation in ‘Efiewura’ could hinder her from landing roles as a wealthy character in more glamorous movies.
However, Gloria emphasized that her proficiency in speaking Twi actually earned her recognition, including the Best Supporting Actress award at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) in March 2020.
