Ghana Police Service Calls Successful 2024 Recruits for Medical Screening, Issues Payment Warning

The Ghana Police Service has announced that successful applicants from its 2024 recruitment drive are now invited for medical screening. Candidates who have been selected received official SMS notifications with details on the medical examination, scheduled to occur from November 7-8, 2024, at six specific locations in Accra.

The designated venues for the screening include:

1. Police Church premises near 37 Military Hospital

2. Police Church premises, Odorkor

3. Police Interdenominational Church premises at the Police Depot, Tesano

4. Formed Police Unit (FPU) Headquarters at Police Depot, Tesano

5. Detective Training School at Police Depot, Tesano

6. Police Academy, also at the Police Depot, Tesano

Candidates are responsible for covering the cost of the screening, set at GH¢980, according to the police’s official statement on November 5, 2024. The police strongly cautioned successful applicants not to pay any amount beyond this stated fee and warned of fraudsters who may attempt to solicit extra payments under false pretenses.

In its statement, the Police Service urged all candidates and the public to report any individual who demands additional payment beyond the specified GH¢980. The police also addressed unsuccessful candidates, advising them not to pay anyone who might claim they can assist them with recruitment.

The Police Service emphasized its commitment to transparency throughout the recruitment process and reiterated that all official information will be provided directly to candidates via official channels. The organization’s statement aims to protect applicants from fraud, ensuring a smooth and fair screening process for those advancing in the recruitment.
