Ghana’s 67th Independence Day: The US urges reflection on enduring bonds that unite us

On the occasion of Ghana’s 67th Independence Day, the United States of America has urged Ghana to contemplate the strong bonds between the two nations.

Anthony J. Blinken, the US Secretary of State, conveyed his wishes in a statement, stating, “On behalf of the United States of America, I join President Akufo-Addo and the people of Ghana in celebrating 67 years of independence on March 6.”

Mr. Blinken emphasized the need for a moment of reflection on the extensive history and enduring democratic connections that unite the US and Ghana, underscoring the dynamic partnership they share.

He stated, “As we celebrate this milestone, let us reflect on the rich history and the enduring ties of democracy that bind our two nations and our dynamic partnership.”

Furthermore, he expressed the United States’ profound appreciation for its longstanding friendship with Ghana and highlighted the ongoing collaborative efforts of both nations to strengthen their democracies and uphold the human rights of all individuals.
