Rashid Bawa, Ghana’s High Commissioner to Nigeria, passed away. He reportedly passed away on Thursday, March 14, in Nigeria.
He is scheduled to return by air to Ghana, where he will be buried in accordance with Islamic customs.
Bawa is a politician, diplomat, and New Patriotic Party (NPP) member from Ghana. Prior to this, the ex-MP represented Ghana as an ambassador to Saudi Arabia.As an independent candidate, he served as the Member of Parliament for the Akan Constituency from January 7, 2001, to January 6, 2005.President Nana Akufo-Addo appointed him as Ghana’s high commissioner to Nigeria in June 2017.
In the Third and Fourth Parliaments of the Fourth Republic of Ghana, Bawa ran as an independent. He was chosen to represent the Akan seat as a member of parliament in the Volta Region.
