Hajia4Reall and Legal Team Celebrate 12-Month Sentence in Romance Scam Case
Hajia4Reall, also known as Mona Faiz Montrage, has been sentenced to one year and one day in prison by a US court for her involvement in a romance scam that defrauded approximately $2 million from forty victims, primarily elderly men. The sentencing came after a lengthy trial with the US government that began in 2022.
The Fast Law Firm PLC, representing Hajia4Reall, expressed satisfaction with the court’s decision, highlighting that the sentence of 12 months and 1 day was more lenient than the 37 to 46 months requested by the prosecution. They praised the advocacy done on behalf of their client during the trial.
According to reports, the prosecution sought a longer 37-month sentence, but the judge opted for a shorter term, including an extra day for “good time.”
In addition to the prison sentence, the court allowed Hajia4Reall to surrender properties valued at $2,164,758.41 instead of requiring monetary restitution for the stolen funds related to the conspiracy charge.
