Ho Residents Rejoice as Ghana Water Ends Supply Crisis!
Ho Residents Finally Get Relief as Ghana Water Ltd Resolves Supply Crisis

After all three pumps at the Kpeve Water Abstraction Plant failed, causing weeks of severe interruption, Ghana Water Ltd (GWL) has successfully restored the water supply to the Ho Municipality in the Volta Region.
GWL announced that operations have resumed, providing much-needed respite to companies and residents in the affected areas in an official statement issued on Monday, February 10, 2025.
GWL quickly sent out its technical teams, who worked nonstop to fix the problem in less than 48 hours. This prompt action was consistent with the short-term recovery plan established by Hon. Adam Mutawakilu, Managing Director. To lessen the effects of the shortfall, GWL also offered tanker services to vital service facilities as a stopgap.
GWL has ordered two new pumps, which should arrive by the end of March 2025, to avoid any more interruptions. By strengthening the water supply system’s resiliency, these pumps will guarantee future operations run more smoothly.
Additionally, GWL is coordinating its activities with the government’s “Water for All” campaign, which prioritizes fair and sustainable water distribution. The Kpeve Water Treatment Plant is being expanded as part of the company’s long-term ambitions to increase capacity and meet the growing demand in Ho Municipality and the surrounding areas.
GWL has assured the public that it is still committed to enhancing the provision of water services throughout Ghana. Residents and stakeholders were thanked by the corporation for their cooperation and patience during the disturbance.
