"It Was Just Business, Not an Endorsement" : Olivetheboy on NDC Youth Manifesto Launch Performance

Rising Ghanaian artist Olivetheboy has addressed the ongoing speculation regarding his recent performance at the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Youth Manifesto launch. The “Goodsin” singer has clarified that his appearance was purely a business transaction and not a political endorsement.

In an interview on Okay FM, Olivetheboy explained that he was invited by Sharaf Mahama, son of former President John Mahama, to perform at the event. He emphasized that his participation was strictly professional, similar to other performances at various events like Afrochella, and should not be misconstrued as an endorsement of the NDC.

“My performance is not tied to any political endorsement,” Olivetheboy stated firmly. “If NPP calls me today, I will perform. If CPP comes tomorrow, I will still go and perform. I have friends from all political parties, and if I have been hired to perform, I surely will.”

He further highlighted that his main focus is on his music career and that he intends to remain neutral, entertaining audiences across different political affiliations. Olivetheboy also responded to critics who questioned his decision to perform at the NDC event, stating that his priority is to advance his music career and provide for himself. He expressed confidence that his loyal fan base understands his need to make a living and that they will support him regardless of the backlash.
