Jackie Appiah Earns Master’s Degrees from the University of Ghana

Both Ghanaian film star Jackie Appiah and her longtime manager Samira Yakubu have earned Master of Arts degrees in Communication Studies from the University of Ghana, marking an important academic achievement. Their dedication to both professional and personal development outside of the entertainment industry is further cemented by this accomplishment.
Popular Ghanaian blogger Zionfelix took a picture of the two of them coming at the graduation ceremony wearing their academic regalia. Both fans and professional colleagues have expressed their respect for their achievement.
Prior to their most recent accomplishment, Jackie and Samira had attended the same university to complete their undergraduate degrees. Jackie’s commitment to her studies and successful acting career is demonstrated by her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Information Studies.
Due to her parts in several popular movies, such as Divine Love, The Heart of Men, Power of a Woman, Turning Point, and Blind Lust, Jackie Appiah is well-known in African cinema. She has accumulated a number of notable honors over the years, including Best Actress in a Supporting Role in 2007 and Best Actress in a Leading Role at the 2010 Africa Movie Academy Awards.
Jackie Appiah most recently received the Best Actress in a Leading Role award at the 14th Ghana Movie Awards, which took place at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) in January 2025, in recognition of her outstanding Red Carpet performance.
