Update: Electrician remanded over Kasoa shrinking penis cases false alarm. Get the latest details on this unusual case.

A 22-year-old electrician has been remanded into police custody by a District Court at Awutu Breku for allegedly raising a false alarm about his penis shrinking at Millenium City, Kasoa.

Michael Nelson faces charges of publishing false news and causing unlawful harm. According to reports, Nelson falsely claimed that his penis had shrunk and accused Safiru Bohari, a nail technician, as the culprit. Due to Nelson’s false alarm, Bohari was subjected to severe beatings by some individuals.

During the court proceedings presided over by Judge Naomi Kontuor, Nelson did not enter a plea. He is scheduled to appear in court again on April 11, 2024. The prosecution, led by Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Thomas Sarfo and Chief Inspector Bernice Wie Kpuusu, stated that the complainant, Bohari, resided in the Lawyer suburb of Kasoa, while Nelson lived in Millenium City.

On March 27, 2024, at around 3:15 pm, the prosecution explained that Bohari was taking a rest under a mango tree in Millennium City Estate after his nail-cutting rounds when Nelson approached him. Without provocation, Nelson accused Bohari of causing his penis to shrink and raised a false alarm, attracting nearby residents.

Nelson convinced the residents that Bohari was responsible for his condition, leading to Bohari being assaulted and sustaining various injuries. A witness intervened and brought both parties to the Millennium City Police station, where the incident was reported.

The court heard that a medical report form was issued to the complainant.

The prosecution said Nelson was escorted to the Kasoa Polyclinic for examination and treatment.

According to the prosecutor, when Nelson was examined by a medical officer on duty, his manhood was “stable” and had no “defect” contrary to the accused person’s claim.

“Nonetheless, he was given medication. The complainant on the other hand was also treated and discharged,” the prosecution said.
