Kim Kardashian Testifies: ‘I Forgive You’ in Robbery Case
Kim Kardashian Testifies in Paris Robbery Trial: ‘I Forgive You’ but Life Has Changed Forever

In the continuing trial of ten people accused of robbing her at gunpoint in 2016, Kim Kardashian has testified in court in Paris in an incredibly moving statement. For the reality TV personality and aspiring lawyer, the high-profile case has brought back bitter memories of the theft of property valued at millions of dollars, including a $4 million diamond engagement ring from Kanye West. Kardashian, who was clearly terrified, described the horrifying moment she woke up to discover armed attackers in her hotel suite. Before recognizing the threat, she thought they were police officers. “I absolutely did think I was going to die,” she told the court, describing the moment a gun was pressed against her back. Her hands and feet were bound with zip ties in a method known in France as saucissonnage—a technique likened to tying up a salami.
Despite the trauma, Kardashian extended forgiveness to one of the accused who admitted guilt. “I forgive you,” she said, while acknowledging that true regret can exist even when suspects refuse to implicate others in the gang. “They probably don’t want to snitch,” she noted.
The aftermath of the robbery has left lasting psychological scars. Kardashian shared that she underwent extensive therapy and still struggles with anxiety. “If someone walks up the stairs and doesn’t respond when I call out, I break down,” she admitted. Her lifestyle and approach to security have changed dramatically—she now travels with heavy security, avoids posting in real time on social media, and sends her jewelry home separately to avoid keeping valuables near her children.
Kardashian also spoke out against one of the robbers, Yunice Abbas, who authored a book titled I Held Up Kim Kardashian. “It didn’t seem fair,” she said emotionally. “He’s making money from my memories, my trauma.”
Kardashian acknowledged the cultural distinctions between French and American conceptions of violence when questioned. She stressed that being chained and threatened at gunpoint was unquestionably violent and violating, even if she wasn’t physically assaulted.
When asked why she chose to attend the trial in person, Kardashian said this was her moment of closure. “This is my opportunity to put this to rest,” she stated. “What happened was life-altering, and I wouldn’t wish that kind of terror on my worst enemy.”
The trial, which began in late April, continues at the Palais de Justice in Paris, with live updates being provided as Kardashian seeks justice—not just for herself, but to raise awareness and prevent future victims from suffering the same fate.
