KNUST Student Remanded Again Over Female Student’s Death

Daniel Tuffour, a final-year student at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), has been placed under remand in detention once more in relation to the alleged murder of Joana Deladem Yabani, a fellow student. Yabani’s lifeless body was found on campus on February 27, 2025, marking the terrible event. Tuffour was arrested a few hours after the finding as a result of the authorities’ quick response.
After his first court appearance, he was placed under remand while the investigation proceeded. The prosecution told the court during his second court appearance on March 17, 2025, that the case docket had been sent to the Attorney General’s office for additional legal guidance. This request was granted by the court, and Tuffour was remanded until his subsequent appearance on April 1, 2025, when the Attorney General’s recommendations are anticipated to be made.
