A country clled Ghana

Popular Kumawood actor and producer Kwadwo Nkansah, known as LilWin, has revealed that he has invested nearly $100,000 to promote his new movie, ‘A Country Called Ghana.

’ In his promotional efforts, LilWin acquired a brand-new Mercedes Benz C43 AMG and branded it with flyers for the movie, a venture that alone cost close to GH₵500,000.

In a detailed breakdown, LilWin mentioned that over 3,000 T-shirts, each costing GH₵50, have been printed. Additionally, more than 60 billboards have been mounted across Accra and Kumasi, with each costing GH₵6000.

These expenditures, he explained, were all part of his effort to generate support and enthusiasm for Ghana’s movie industry and his new film.

“This movie, just the promotion, is getting to $100,000. People will say Kwadwo brags, but I can give you an analysis so you can confirm that it’s true. The AMG Benz, which we have branded just for the promotion of the movie, is almost GH₵500,000…I should have even acquired a mansion and branded it ‘A Country Called Ghana.’ This is all because of my love for Ghana and the movie and because I want all Ghanaians to support the industry,” he said on May 14, during an interview on 3FM Drive.

LilWin is set to premiere ‘A Country Called Ghana’ on May 17 at the National Theatre and on May 25 in Kumasi. The movie features stars including top Nigerian actors like Ramsey Nouah, Charles Awurun, and Awilo.

In the same interview, LilWin revealed that playing romantic roles in movies is his toughest challenge as an actor. Despite his versatility in taking on various characters, he confessed that romantic scenes make him uncomfortable. “There’s no character I have not played. The only role I’m not comfortable with is romance or love roles. I feel shy to even kiss another character, although I will do it, it makes me feel uneasy,” he said.

Currently on a media tour to promote ‘A Country Called Ghana,’ LilWin shared this insight during an interview with 3Xtra’s King Kwaku Mensa, further endearing himself to his fans by showcasing his dedication and humility.
