Madina MP Petitions Police Action Against Nungua Gborgbu Wulormor: Calls for Prosecution
Madina MP, Francis Xavier-Sosu, has lodged a formal complaint with the Police Criminal Investigations Department (CID), urging for the apprehension and legal action against 63-year-old Nungua Gborgbu Wulormor.
This petition calls for an inquiry into Wulormor’s conduct, also known as Nuumo Borketey Laweh XXXIII, with the intention of pursuing legal measures.
Expressing disdain for the priest’s actions, Sosu emphasized that marriage should involve consenting adults, and he criticized the girl’s parents for their complicity. Sosu confirmed his plan to submit the petition to the IGP during an interview on TV3’s Ghana Tonight program.
“Her childhood has never been denied, there are many chiefs and queens that were installed chiefs and queens when they were even in their mother’s belly, their rights were never taken away, indeed, it enhanced and gave them certain privileges that ordinary children would not even have,” Nungua Mankralo Tetteh Nii Gbotery Kofi Frankwa told TV3.
He stressed the importance of protecting children until they reach adulthood and condemned parents who neglect their responsibilities. Sosu clarified that the petition would be delivered to the IGP’s office on Tuesday, April 2, insisting that no one is exempt from the law. Nungua Mankralo Tetteh Nii Gbotery Kofi Frankwa defended the cultural customs surrounding the girl’s marriage, stating that it aligns with their community traditions.
