President John Dramani Mahama has expressed his sincere gratitude to Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, the departing Inspector-General of Police (IGP), for his outstanding service and commitment to the country’s security and law enforcement.
President Mahama recognized Dampare’s steadfast dedication to upholding law and order and commended his services during a ceremonial ceremony in Accra to swear in the recently appointed IGP, COP Christian Tetteh Yohuno.
“Dr. Dampare has served Ghana with remarkable dedication, and his efforts in strengthening national security will not be forgotten. We sincerely appreciate his service and wish him the very best in his future endeavors,” Mahama stated
Mahama urged all officers to support the new IGP in order to ensure a smooth leadership transition, stressing the value of stability in the Ghana Police Service. He told the force that the government would provide them with the tools they needed, thorough training, and the reforms they needed to improve their operational effectiveness.
“The Ghana Police Service plays a crucial role in maintaining national security. I urge all officers to extend their full support to the new IGP. Your dedication and sacrifices do not go unnoticed, and the government remains committed to providing the necessary tools and policies to help you excel in your duties,” the President added.
A major change has occurred in the Ghana Police Service with the appointment of COP Christian Tetteh Yohuno. Expectations are high, and the new IGP is expected to lead reforms to strengthen security operations, boost professionalism, and restore public confidence in law enforcement.
This shift in leadership is a part of larger initiatives to strengthen Ghana’s security structure and guarantee effectiveness and dependability in law enforcement. The government is still committed to helping the Ghana Police Service fulfill its duty of protecting the public and enforcing the law.
