Mawuena Adzo Trebarh Laid to Rest
Mawuena Adzo Trebarh, a pioneer in Ghana’s corporate world, was laid to rest in a poignant ceremony at the Holy Spirit Cathedral in Adabraka, Accra, on June 29. She passed away on April 11 after a brief illness.
As the first female CEO of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) from 2013 to 2017, Mrs. Trebarh significantly contributed to Ghana’s economic advancement by attracting substantial investment.
Her illustrious career began as Ghana’s first female underground exploration geologist at Ashanti Goldfields Company Ltd.
She held prominent roles such as head of Corporate Communications at Newmont Ghana Gold Ltd. and head of Corporate Services at Mobile Telecommunications Network (MTN).
Beyond her corporate achievements, Mrs. Trebarh was the founding director and Chief Business Strategist at Inspire Africa, underlining her dedication to nurturing entrepreneurship and strategic business growth across Africa.
She is survived by her husband, Flt LT Divine Trebarh, and their daughter, Katherine Joy. Mrs. Trebarh’s life and work remain a source of inspiration for many in Ghana and beyond.
