NDC Warns NPP of Voter Backlash Over Abandoned Mankraso Astroturf Project
Dumong Solomon, the NDC’s Secretary for Ahafo Ano South, expressed strong sentiments on Citi FM’s Eyewitness News, stating that residents of Mankraso will not forgive the NPP for neglecting and damaging their only social ground.
He criticized the NPP government for demolishing the park to build an astroturf just a week before their primaries, only to remove equipment immediately after.
Solomon emphasized that despite their silence, the NPP would face consequences during their upcoming campaign in Mankraso.
The NDC in Ahafo Ano South of the Ashanti Region believes that voters will punish the NPP in the December 7 elections for abandoning the town’s sole park. There is ongoing contention between the political parties over the park, which residents expected the NPP to convert into an astroturf. The community alleges that a bulldozer was brought in right before the NPP primaries and removed soon after, leaving the park damaged. In response, the NPP in the district accuses NDC affiliates of sabotage, claiming they drove away the contractor with stones.
