NSS Releases April Arrears Following Strike by Personnel
The National Service Scheme (NSS) has responded to a strike declared by its personnel by releasing the long-awaited arrears for April.
The Concerned National Service Scheme Personnel Association of Ghana (CONSPAG) had announced a nationwide strike on July 3, 2024, due to unpaid allowances, which significantly impacted the livelihoods of its members.
In a swift reaction, the **National Executive Council of the National Service Personnel Association** issued a statement on the same day, confirming that the Secretariat had processed the payment for April arrears. These funds are expected to appear in the personnel’s accounts by July 5, 2024.
Additionally, the council assured that May’s allowances would be disbursed shortly after the April payments are confirmed. Personnel have been encouraged to stay calm as efforts are underway to resolve all outstanding payment issues.
