Rev John Ntim Fordjour, the Deputy Minister of Education, has revealed that the Ministry intends to secure financial clearance for the placement of teachers who have passed their licensure exams.

This initiative is a direct response to the concerns expressed by teachers who are yet to be assigned positions despite passing their exams. During discussions with journalists while overseeing the teacher licensure examination in Accra on Monday, Rev Fordjour emphasized the government’s dedication to guaranteeing the employment of eligible teachers.

“We wish everyone the very best and we assure them that we are seeking financial clearance to post as many that will pass to various schools and communities where their services will be needed the most,” he stated.

Additionally, he reiterated the government’s commitment to retaining the licensure exam, highlighting its importance in upholding the professional standards expected of teachers.

“For the past six years that we have been implementing the teacher licensure examination, it has lifted the standard of teaching in this country. It has impacted outcomes and improved our education sector…It is important that we are sure that the people who are going to be deployed to teach our learners are people who have the requisite licenses,” he stated.
