Renowned Ghanaian highlife artist Ofori Amponsah has disclosed that he possesses the gift of prophecy, a divine ability to foresee future events. In a recent interview with Berla Mundi on the Day Show, Amponsah explained that his gift is something given to him by God, and he has used it throughout his career.

“I don’t want to talk much about it today, but it’s a gift. I can sit down and predict what will happen in a future year, like 2020,” Amponsah said when asked about his prophetic abilities. He acknowledged that his prophetic gift came before his fame as a musician, stating that it was something he had been practicing in church long before he became a star. He explained how he utilized his music career as a platform to express his God-given gift, blending his ability to foresee the future with his songs. “It’s a gift, and that’s what I was doing in church before I became Ofori Amponsah. Music was my platform,” he added. He cited instances where he received prophetic insight during studio sessions and incorporated it into his music, as he did not have a church of his own to share his visions.

Reflecting on his journey, Amponsah clarified that his turn to God wasn’t a sudden decision to give his life to Christ. He had always been involved in church, leading worship, singing, and preaching, even before rising to fame. However, he admitted to taking a break from music because he felt he was going astray. “I needed a break to find myself again,” he said. He emphasized that stepping back from music was crucial in helping him regain his sense of direction.

Ofori Amponsah concluded by noting that his return to music has been more successful than ever, and he now feels even more accomplished. For him, his prophetic gift surpasses his musical talent, a realization that has shaped his life and career.
