Over Half a Million Students Begin 2024 BECE Across Ghana Today
Today marks the commencement of the 2024 Basic Education Certificate Examinations (BECE), with 569,095 candidates sitting for the exams at 2,123 designated centers nationwide.
The exams, a pivotal moment in the academic journey of these young students, will run until Monday, July 15, 2024.
The Ghana Education Service (GES) issued a statement on Sunday, July 7, applauding the candidates for their dedication and perseverance.
They also extended heartfelt thanks to teachers, school heads, education directors, parents, and guardians for their significant contributions in preparing the students for this critical milestone.

The GES emphasized the importance of integrity during the examination process, urging all involved—candidates, invigilators, supervisors, school authorities, teachers, and parents—to avoid any form of malpractice. They assured that GES, in collaboration with the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) and security services, is committed to ensuring a smooth and fair examination process across all centers.
