Police Arrest Two for Alleged Possession of Human Blood Without Authorization

Two people were recently arrested by the National route Police Patrol for illegally carrying a material thought to be human blood in Dzrakate, a community close to Akatsi on the Accra-Aflao route. The suspects were arrested and charged under Section 69B of the Criminal Offences (Amendment) Act, 2012 (Act 29/60) as Winnie Agbofoatsi Kwesi, a 34-year-old teacher, and Morgan Martins, a 38-year-old contractor.
The arrest occurred on Sunday, February 9 at around 12:00 PM, according to Ghana News Agency (GNA) sources. A Toyota Corolla registered GW 2837-19 was stopped by a police patrol squad as it was making its way from Accra to Aflao. Officers found three plastic containers containing what they believed to be human blood during a regular search of the car. Winnie Agbofoatsi’s contact information was written on the products.
After being questioned, the driver acknowledged that he had received the shipment in Tema and had been told to bring it to Agbofoatsi at Agbozume. Agbofoatsi had made arrangements to provide the blood to a fetish priest in Lome, Togo, according to investigations. Morgan Martins, who willingly showed up at the Akatsi Police Station to try to clarify the situation, was arrested after more investigation. But he also admitted to his involvement after being questioned, and he was later arrested.
The Akatsi District Court remanded both suspects, and they are scheduled to reappear on Thursday, February 20. Law enforcement organizations are still looking into the matter to determine its full scope. Another person connected to the crime is still at large, and authorities are working to find and capture them, they have also revealed.
Discussions about crime and security along Ghana’s main highways have been triggered by this occurrence, underscoring the necessity for more stringent law enforcement and surveillance protocols. In order to support ongoing investigations, the Akatsi Police have urged the public to report any suspicious activity and have reassured them of their dedication to seeing that justice is done.
