Queen of Akra, new anticipated movie set to premiere on March 6
On March 6, a new film about the legendary 16th-century Ga queen Naa Dode Akabi, who reigned as the first female king of the Gas, will open at Akwaaba Magic.
The movie is based on the story of Naa Dode Akabi; Queen Dodi Akaabi also known as Naa Dode Akabi I ruled the Ga Land from 1610-1635 and was an Obutu or Awutu princess who was married to the wealthy Ga King, Mampong Okai. The Obutus/Awutus were known for pomp and opulence and were much into gold trade.
A number of well-known Ghanaian actors, including Adjetey Annan and Jasmine Baroudi, starred in the biography Queen of Akra. Many fans have been thrilled with the web teaser for the upcoming movie, and they have flocked to social media to express their excitement for it.
