Actress Regina Daniels has addressed recent backlash over her comments regarding past relationships before marrying her husband, Ned Nwoko. Daniels had previously mentioned that she had numerous male friends, sparking controversy with statements suggesting she had as many as 20 boyfriends who provided for her in various ways.

In response to public assumptions, Daniels clarified that she was, in fact, a virgin when she married Nwoko, emphasizing that her relationships before marriage were purely platonic. Her intention, she explained, was to guide young women on setting boundaries in relationships. She highlighted that having male friends who support and assist them does not mean they are obligated to reciprocate physically.

Using her Instagram platform, Daniels explained that her statement about multiple boyfriends was meant partly in jest to reassure her husband and also to convey a lesson for young girls. She shared: “Hey everyone, I want to clarify the 20 boyfriends thing. It was just to soothe my husband and also to educate young girls that having male friends willing to help doesn’t mean you owe them your body. And yes, I had a lot, but I kept my promise to stay a virgin until marriage. And guess what? I did! It’s a big flex.”

Daniels continued by addressing her popularity, humorously adding, “What did you guys expect? It’s your little beautiful sweetheart, Regina Daniels—of course men and ladies would admire. So everyone chill, please.”

In her message, Daniels aimed to dispel misunderstandings while reinforcing the importance of self-respect and boundaries in relationships.
