Regina Daniels Talks Family’s Initial Objections to Marrying Ned Nwoko
Regina Daniels Opens Up About Family’s Opposition to Marriage with Ned Nwoko

Nollywood star Regina Daniels recently shared insights into her marriage to Nigerian politician Ned Nwoko, revealing her family’s early objections to their relationship. Speaking openly in a live social media session, she addressed rumors that she was pressured into marrying someone much older. Daniels clarified that, while her family—especially her mother—initially disapproved, she remained firm in her decision.
Recalling the early days of their relationship, Daniels shared a lighthearted memory. She recounted a family outing her mother insisted on, which she was initially reluctant to attend. Unexpectedly, this outing introduced her to Nwoko, marking the start of their bond. “I was annoyed with my mum for insisting on the outing.
But then, I met this amazing man,” she explained, humorously adding, “The takeaway here is, don’t let a boyfriend stop you from meeting your husband. Daniels also addressed assumptions about her choice, emphasizing that her decision to marry Nwoko was entirely her own.
At the time, she had other romantic interests but ultimately felt a strong connection with him. She asserted that her family’s opposition only strengthened her determination, debunking any notion that she was forced into the marriage. “People think I had no choice or was pressured by my mum, but that’s not true. My family was against it, but I knew what I wanted,” she stated confidently.
Hinting at future revelations, the acclaimed actress mentioned she might share more about her relationship journey with Nwoko and her family’s initial resistance.
