Sonnie Badu Hosts Peace Walk and Concert to Foster Unity Ahead of 2024 Elections

As Ghana heads toward the December 7, 2024, general elections, UK-based Ghanaian gospel artist Sonnie Badu has amplified his call for peace and unity through a significant public event. On November 23, 2024, Sonnie Badu led a vibrant peace walk in Accra, urging Ghanaians to uphold harmony and responsible behavior throughout the electoral process.
Dubbed “The Peace Walk with Sonnie Badu,” the event attracted hundreds of participants dressed in branded T-shirts, forming a colorful and unified procession.
The walk commenced at Danquah Circle and culminated at the iconic Black Star Square, also known as Independence Square. Distinguished figures, including Rev. Lawrence Tetteh, gospel artist Cwesi Oteng, and renowned music producer Kaywa, joined the event to emphasize the significance of maintaining peace during the election period. Speaking during the event, Sonnie Badu encouraged Ghanaians to vote responsibly, saying, “Cast a vote for Ghana. Ghana must win.
Don’t let short-term promises sway you; consider your circumstances and make informed decisions.” He also highlighted the fleeting nature of political campaigns, urging citizens to use their voting power wisely.
The peace walk served as a precursor to Badu’s much-anticipated “Rhythms of Africa” gospel music concert, scheduled for November 29, 2024, at Independence Square. This year’s theme, “The Peace Edition,” aligns with the artist’s mission to promote unity, reconciliation, and spiritual upliftment ahead of the polls.
Since its inception in 2023, “Rhythms of Africa” has celebrated African spirituality and culture through vibrant musical performances, earning widespread acclaim. This year’s edition aims to inspire collective action toward peaceful elections while fostering national harmony.
