Stonebwoy Clarifies Relationship with King Promise
Stonebwoy, recently crowned Artiste of the Year at the 2024 Telecel Ghana Music Awards, addressed speculation about his relationship with fellow artist King Promise during an interview on Daybreak Hitz with Andy Dosty.
Responding to questions about not acknowledging King Promise’s congratulatory message on social media, Stonebwoy clarified that his lack of response was not personal.
Stonebwoy explained that he had seen King Promise’s message but had not replied, just as he had not responded to many other similar messages. He emphasized that there is no underlying issue between them and dismissed any notions of bad blood.
“I don’t have any problem with my brother King Promise,” Stonebwoy stated, urging fans to avoid creating unnecessary drama. He added, “There are so many people who I’ve not responded to their congratulatory messages, so I think it’s in that basket. Believe me, there is nothing attached to it at all.”

Highlighting their camaraderie, Stonebwoy recalled his support for King Promise early in his career, including participating in the music video for King Promise’s song “Hey Sexy” despite his busy schedule. “He is one of our junior brothers in the industry. When he did ‘hey sexy’ I remember I was travelling at that time, I had to pass by and shoot the video for him,” he recounted.
Stonebwoy’s comments reinforced his respect and goodwill towards King Promise, affirming their brotherhood in the music industry and advising fans not to misinterpret his silence as a sign of conflict.
