Tragic Incident in Sunyani: Man Allegedly Kills Girlfriend, Hides Body in Septic Tank

A 26-year-old man named Kwabena Adjei is accused of killing his 19-year-old Nigerian girlfriend, Testimony, and hiding her body in a septic tank, in a gruesome murder case that has shocked the Sunyani community. Law enforcement organizations are currently looking into the horrific discovery, which has shocked the Bono Region. Police sources state that Adjei, who had been haunted by the spirit of his ex-girlfriend, willingly turned himself in to the police along with his uncle. During a furious altercation, the suspect acknowledged that he had elbowed her, causing her to lose consciousness and pass away immediately.
ADO II Ignatius Noekor, the Ghana National Fire Service’s (GNFS) Sunyani Municipal Operations Officer, verified the case’s horrific circumstances. According to reports, Adjei attempted to dispose of the victim’s body in a neighboring septic tank after keeping it in his room for three days following the fatal altercation. The body had fully decomposed by the time authorities arrived. The police requested assistance from the GNFS in order to recover the remains from the septic tank. The body was successfully recovered by officials using high-pressure water flushing techniques. The suspect is helping with ongoing investigations while in police custody.
According to authorities, this was Testimony’s second trip to Adjei prior to her untimely death. Legal action is anticipated shortly, and law enforcement officials are still gathering evidence. Concerns about relationship-related crimes and domestic abuse in Ghana have been rekindled by the case. Advocacy organizations stress the need for more stringent enforcement and public awareness efforts in order to persuade the government to bolster legislation that shield people from gender-based violence.
