Suspect in Kasoa Military Officer Killing Charged with Murder
In a significant development in the case involving the fatal shooting of a military officer at Kasoa, Ben Lord, the primary suspect, has been formally charged with murder and conspiracy to commit murder.Â
Ben Lord, who identifies himself as a chief, was apprehended following the incident at the Millennium City Police Station, where he allegedly shot and killed the officer on the spot. Following his initial arraignment on May 3, he has been held on remand as investigations continued.
The police, after completing their investigation, submitted the case to the Attorney General for review. Upon evaluation, the Attorney General advised that Ben Lord should face charges of murder and conspiracy to commit murder.
In connection with the same incident, a second suspect, Nana Amoh Kwakye, who was arrested later, has also been charged with conspiracy to commit murder.
Both suspects are scheduled to appear in court again on June 20, as the legal proceedings continue to unfold.
