Dr. George Prah, the suspended Medical Director of the Trauma and Specialist Hospital in Winneba, provided a detailed account of a recent incident involving a patient from Gomoa Ojobi.
The patient, who had been involved in a hit-and-run accident, was brought to the hospital on May 29, 2024. She had fractures in her leg bones, and the hospital treated her and cared for her for six days.
Dr. Prah explained that the patient, after receiving treatment and recovering, expressed a strong desire to leave the hospital. With her health stabilized, the hospital’s social welfare officer coordinated with a counterpart in Gomoa Ojobi to arrange for her return. It was agreed that the hospital would transport her back to Gomoa Ojobi.
The hospital provided an ambulance and a wheelchair, ensuring she was properly cared for during the journey. Before she was sent back, the social welfare officer from Winneba informed the officer in Ojobi, who confirmed they were ready to receive her.
