KNUST Mourns: Final-Year Student Tragically Found Dead

A final-year student’s lifeless body was found close to Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology’s (KNUST) Disability and Rehabilitation Center, following a tragic incident that rocked the campus community.
The body was discovered early Thursday morning and was identified as Joana Deladem Yabani, a 22-year-old fourth-year student of biological sciences. Her remains were promptly taken to the University Health Services by the university, where medical staff verified her death.
In an official statement, KNUST expressed its condolences to the bereaved family, affirming that they had been formally notified of the tragic loss.
“The University has officially informed the family of the deceased and extends its deepest sympathies during this challenging time,” the statement read.
To ascertain the circumstances underlying the regrettable tragedy, authorities have initiated a thorough investigation in cooperation with the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), KNUST Internal Security, and University Health Services.
