Emma Atkinson, a heavily pregnant mother of five, tragically fell 90 feet to her death from a 17-storey tower block in Leeds, identified as Shakespeare Towers in Burmantofts. Emma, who was in her 30s and just weeks away from giving birth, was found by paramedics after falling from the 10th floor. Despite their efforts to save her, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

In a bittersweet turn of events, her baby was delivered prematurely, five weeks ahead of schedule, and is currently under critical care in the hospital. The community has been left devastated, with tributes pouring in from friends and family. Her daughter, in an emotional Facebook post, expressed her deep sorrow, writing, “I need you so much mum… I love you more than life, mum.”

Emma’s death has left a profound impact on those who knew her. Friends and neighbors have shared heartfelt messages, remembering her as a loving mother and a beloved friend. Dylan Connolly, a close friend, described her as the “crazy friend we all needed,” while another friend, Zoe White, expressed disbelief and heartbreak at her passing. Flowers have been placed at the scene in tribute to Emma, with messages of love and remembrance. Local resident Mandy Shires, who witnessed the aftermath, remarked on the miracle of Emma’s baby surviving the fall, noting that the window from which she fell had been wide open all day.

West Yorkshire Police confirmed that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding Emma’s death. The coroner’s office has been informed, and an investigation is underway. The community remains in shock, with a police presence expected in the area for the coming days.
