Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia visited the ailing YOLO actor John Peasah, also known as Drogba, who has been diagnosed with demyelination, a nerve disorder affecting vision, movement, and sensation.

The visit took place on Tuesday, March 12, at Drogba’s home, where the Vice President expressed sympathy and offered support for his treatment. A video shared on X captured the Vice President being warmly welcomed by the actor’s family.

The actor’s colleague, Jeffrey Nortey, had previously shared the news of his condition, urging for financial assistance. Drogba’s sister, Hannah Mensah, provided updates on his condition and treatment process during an interview on Hitz FM on March 11, mentioning ongoing weekly hospital visits and awaiting test results flown abroad for diagnosis.

“I think in his last season, if you can remember, he was not performing like he used to do in the previous season, he tried to act but could not. So, he has been in the house.

“Right now, we are in the hospital because of his eyes, he is having double vision with the right eye, and he’s having pain with it. We come once every week for treatment and medications prescribed,” she explained.

Hannah says her brother remains weak and only able to undertake some actions with help. She appealed for support from the public to assist her brother to recover fully.
