Voting underway to elect replacement for John Kumah: Ejisu by-election. Stay updated on electoral proceedings.

Voting has commenced at all 204 polling centers in Ejisu to elect a replacement for the late MP and Deputy Finance Minister, John Kumah, who passed away on March 7, 2024. Six candidates, including three independents, are vying in the highly anticipated by-election.
A total of 106,812 voters are expected to participate. Notably, former three-time NPP Member of Parliament for the constituency, Kwabena Owusu Aduomi, is running as an Independent Candidate. Despite facing allegations of betrayal, Aduomi remains hopeful of victory.
An elderly resident, Lydia Yaa Achaa, has become a highlight of the morning as she defied her age to make her way to the polling center with her daughter’s assistance. Though unable to recall her exact age, she emphasized the importance of her vote and expressed gratitude to independent candidate Aduomi for his support.
