Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku stated that the period following the 2023 AFCON has allowed the GFA leadership ample time for reflection on the organization’s activities. He made these remarks during a press event in Kumasi focused on football-related issues in the country.

“The happenings during the tournament have not been what we us Ghanaians would have loved to see. As servants of football, we’ve never been happy about how beloved Black Stars performed.

What we saw of the team was not what we expected of the team. The period between our last game against Mozambique and today have been a reflective period for us,” he stated.

“This has been a period for us to reflect on our work as a team, to reflect on what policies, can help us bring back the love to our sport…and to take far reaching decisions that will strategically impact positively on the game,” he added.

Also in attendance were GFA Executive Council member Dr. Randy Abbey, GFA Secretary General Prosper Harrison Addo, and GFA Communications Director Henry Asante Twum.

The GFA is preparing to announce a new head coach for the Black Stars in the upcoming days.
